Tirolez was established on the 1st of May, 1980,
by two brothers, who were engineers, but with a brave and venturing
spirit.
In the beginning, the mark Tirolez, which
reflects the Swiss origin, named only yellow cheese, followed by
muzzarella and provolone, kinds of cheese that were of great
consumerism at that time.
For almost ten years Tirolez worked only with
these kinds of cheese, and only in 1988 it started the production of
Minas Frescal, a cheese with raw paste that demanded more care in
the process and in getting the raw material (milk).
The Company was focusing the products quality,
what made it hire (which is a rare fact in industries at that time)
its first milky technician graduated at I.L.C.T. (Instituto de
Laticínios Candido Tostes) in Juiz de Fora.
At the end of the 80s, Tirolez hired an
advertising agency with the purpose of working with the mark’s image.
At the same time, it started investing in human
resources, taking experient milky technicians to its plants, who
developed a large line of special kinds of cheese, such as: Estepe,
Gouda, Esférico, Reino, Edam, Gruyère etc..: Estepe, Gouda, Esférico, Reino, Edam, Gruyère
